KPN announced a new offer for the Fox Eredivisie TV package with the top Dutch football matches at EUR 7.50 per month, down from EUR 17.50 previously for the three channels. The Fox Sports International package will cost EUR 12.50 per month for three channels. Both packages will be offered under the new name 'Fox Sports', rather than 'Fox Sports Compleet', for the reduced price of EUR 15 per month, down from EUR 25 previously.
In addition, Fox Eredivisie will be offered as one of the free channel packages KPN Compleet customers can choose (alongside HBO, Plus or Kids). Customers who bundle IPTV with a KPN mobile subscription can also choose the Eredivisie package from 22 August. The price reductions take effect immediately, also for existing KPN, Telfort and XS4All customers.
The lower prices follow the recent renewal of KPN's carriage deal with Fox. While the operator at first resisted the proposed changes from Fox, even taking the broadcaster to court, they reached a deal earlier this month, a week after KPN's old agreement expired. Other operators such as Tele2 have decided not to accept Fox's terms, while Vodafone agreed to include the Fox Sports 1 Eredivisie HD channel in its basic TV package.
