Netflix has launched a localised service in Turkey just days after having also done so in Poland.
As in Poland, the SVOD service is now available with a fully localised user interface, local programming and in the local currency, with prices for Turkish customers starting at TL15.99 (€4.82) a month.
Furthermore, Netflix has also signed an agreement with its first local telecom partner, the mobile provider Vodafone, and is already working with the Turkish TV manufacturer Vestel. Its partnership with Vodafone will come into effect later in October.
Over 80% of Netflix content in Turkey is now dubbed or subtitled into the local language. The service is also streaming a number of Turkish titles.
According to Reed Hastings, co-founder and CEO of Netflix, “Turkish people are great storytellers with their hugely popular and internationally recognised Turkish dramas and Netflix aims to become one of its most vocal ambassadors.
“We’re delighted to offer a more localized Netflix in Turkey that will continue to grow with both our Netflix Original titles and licensed content from here and elsewhere.”
