The Moscow City Court has granted an application by Match TV to stop Chempionat.com, a site operated by Rambler & Co, from showing around 200 clips from the Russian Premier League, Europa League and Champions League.

According to Kommersant, although the broadcaster banned third party sites from using its videos back in August, this is the first time it has taken legal action against one.

However, Dmitry Sergeyev, the deputy DG of Rambler & Co, has claimed that his company strictly abides by legislation and will continue to do so.

At the same time, Dmitry Granov, the CEO of Match TV, has said that Gazprom Media, the latter’s owner, is preparing a number of actions against other sites.
