Russia’s Tricolor TV has decided to no longer work with Look1 in launching its upcoming on demand service.
Instead, reports Telecom Daily, it will partner with Tvzavr, with which it has already signed an agreement.
The latter has an adapted on demand product, and the two parties will work on a revenue share basis.
The service, due to launch in November, will be known as Kino.tricolor.tv. It will be supplied by Tvzavr and use both TVOD and AVOD funding models.
Tricolor TV, which is Russia’s leading pay-TV operator, has also indicated it will continue to work with Tvigle. Its initial partnership agreement had been with both Tvigle and Look1.
Both Tvigle and Tvzavr are among Russia’s leading independent online VOD services.
The move marks the latest stage of cooperation between established broadcasters and such services.
NTV-Plus, for instance, is working with ivi.ru, while MTS has entered into a partnership with Megogo.
