Dish Network has launched a new, multistream version of Sling TV that includes channels from 20th Century Fox.
According to WSJ, it is available in beta and allows for three simultaneous streams on different devices, as well as access to on-demand programming.
It is also different to the Sling TV service launched over a year ago as a skinny bundle of select channels and offered as an alternative to traditional pay-TV. Although this includes channels from Walt Disney Co, it only provides a single stream.
While the new version of Sling TV, available for $20 a month, does not have channels from Disney, it does, in addition to such Fox services as FX, Fox’s regional sports networks and the Fox broadcast network, also include AMC Networks, A+E Networks, Time Warner’s HBO and Turner channels, Scripps Networks Interactive, EPIX and Univision Communications, all of which are present in the basic Sling TV service.
Customers will be able to buy either of both versions of Sling TV.
Negotiations are currently taking place with Disney to make their channels available in the new version.
