PostSubject: Vodafone Spain takes eSports to MTV    Vodafone Spain takes eSports to MTV EmptyTue Apr 19, 2016 6:31 am

Confirming its bet on eSports, Spain’s Vodafone is to produce a new TV show, Gamers, set to air on Viacom’s MTV.

It is thought that as many as 135 million people around the globe and three million in Spain watch and follow eSports , according to Vodafone’s estimation.

Over the last month, the UK telco has increased focus on this new business, first launching an Internet option for gamers, and then sponsoring the Club G2, a team of professional eSports players based in Madrid.

Gamers, which is to air on MTV from April, 28, will follow the daily life of the Club G2. The docu-reality, which is to air a first season of 13 episodes, will be also available on-demand on Vodafone’s eSports YouTube channel.
