In a move that it claims takes its content strategy to the next level, tvN Asia has introduced international versions of CJ E&M's popular non-script formats One Night Food Trip and Get It Beauty across South East Asian countries.

The channel says that in stepping up its original production game by combining the global trend, Hallyu, with Asia’s local tastes it will make its shows more relatable to Asian viewers. With a mix of Korean and international celebrities, and by hosting the show in English, tvN Asia says that it can fuse CJ E&M’s popular Korean formats with Asia’s delights.

One Night Food Trip – International Edition is a spin-off of the CJ E&M format of the same name. The 16-episode season 2 brings audience to the Philippines, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Korea. The cast includes K-pop stars Nichkhun of 2PM and Xander Lee, former member of U-Kiss; K-pop singer-dancer, Se7en; Korean model and global influencer Irene Kim; K-pop singer-songwriter Jung Joon-young; Korean comedian Jo Se-ho and local celebrities from the featured destinations. The show is conducted in English.

By contrast, now-airing original beauty show Get It Beauty On The Road, a co-production between tvN Asia and StarHub TV in Singapore, has become one of the fans’ favourites around the region. It features practical beauty and wellness tips for tropical weather by Korean fashion and beauty star, Sandara Park (Dara), local actresses and K-beauty experts. Following its success, Get It Beauty On The Road plans on bringing the show to Malaysia later this year.
