Liberty Global has received shareholders’ approval to all proposals in connection with the acquisition of Cable & Wireless Communications.

cableWith over 86% voting in support, Liberty Global will move forward right away, aiming to complete the operation on 16 May, if terms are approved by Cable & Wireless.

Indeed, Cable & Wireless will hold a general shareholders meeting on 28 April to consider resolutions relating to the acquisition proposal.

The US cable Company has placed a $5.3 billion offer to acquire Cable & Wireless, which has a significant presence in the Caribbean and Central American regions. But this is not Liberty Global’s only expected move, as the company plans to buy more telecom operators in Latin America.
