Hot on the heels of announcing a dedicated Ultra HD entertainment channel, Virgin Media has furthered its content offer with an extended Asian TV offering by adding a new channel and upgrading four others to high-definition.

Virgin channels 20July20181The Asian Mela TV package is already home to 11 channels of family-friendly Asian shows, drama, films, comedy and reality TV and will now feature Living Foodz with Zee Cinema, Zee TV, Sony TV and Sony MAX all in high-definition.

Living Foodz HD is exclusive to Virgin TV and comes courtesy of ZEE Entertainment Enterprise Limited. It is the UK’s first Indian food channel focusing on food entertainment and presents daily recipes, food shows and kitchen hacks.

Zee TV is home to shows like Kaleerein, Kumkum Bhagya, Yeh Teri Galiyan and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa; Sony TV gives viewers Indian Idol, Mere Sai and Kaun Banega Crorepati plus more; while Zee Cinema and Sony Max are the places for fans of Bollywood blockbusters and other films.

“Fans of Asian shows and entertainment will be delighted with these additions to our platform,” said David Bouchier, chief digital entertainment officer at Virgin Media. “We’re upgrading more of our channels to high-definition as we believe our customers deserve the highest viewing quality when it comes to watching the shows they love.”
