Interactive Dutch music channel and on-demand service Xite will launch a 4K/Ultra HD channel with music videos in Ultra HD quality only, for KPN, starting this September.
Xite is already delivering a music loop of 4K music videos to KPN IPTV’s UltraHD trial with a 1,000 customers.
Apart from linear music channels, which are available on nets in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, Xite also offers on-demand virtual channels via the red button on the remote control.
Viewers can ‘build’ their virtual channels from one of the world’s largest collection of music clips or access curated playlists by genre and view specials and interviews.
Xite is available in the Netherlands in the basic package of KPN, Ziggo, Online and Caiway, in Belgium on Telenet and in Germany on Unitymedia. Talks are underway to bring Xite to the US.
