Norway TVA new study of television distributors in Norway suggests the operators are failing to meet their customers expectations.

When asked how they could do better research organisation EPSI found the common denominator to be the range of channels and movies on offer to be lacking. This in turn leads to customers feeling that they’re simply not getting value for money.

Among the providers measured, Altibox is perceived as the most reliable provider, both in terms of the quality of its product and ability to embrace new technologies. Customers say it’s easy to reach the operator when they need to.

Canal Digital Satellite fell back from last year, but is still above the industry average. Sister company Canal Digital Kabel came bottom of the survey.

The percentage of customers who say they have had reason to complain continues to fall. Two years ago gave 35% of customers that they had reason to complain, while the corresponding figure this year is 27%. This suggests a more trouble-free delivery, and the study confirms that the technical user experience has improved over the last few years.

But while technically the company performs, customers are disappointed with the channel line-up they receive.

The percentage of Norwegian customers supplementing their viewing with an on demand service is also on the increase.

The study shows that those who also have a subscription to such Netflix, TV2 Sumo or HBO overall less satisfied with TV service than those who do not subscribe to such flow services.
