IBC 2018: Seraphic to launch commercial OpApp solution

The Operator Application specification standard that enables development of special applications that create a set-top-box like an experience without a physical device has been a trend for 2018 and Seraphic is to launch officially its OpAPP solution at IBC 2018.

seraphic 5Sep2018Seraphic is positioning itself as a hybrid TV technology leader and its product is compliant with the latest standard specification by ETSI TS 103 606 V1.1.1 (2018-05).

The Sraf OpApp solution has been chosen by multiple renowned operators, such as HD+ in Germany and Tivusat in Italy for smart TVs and STBs, separately supported by leading device manufacturers Arcelik and Skyworth Digital.

According to Xinwen Xue, VP product management at Seraphic, its Sraf OpApp solution is “especially outstanding” in saving resource and time. Built on mature and widely-deployed Sraf HbbTV 2 solution, Sraf OpApp solution only takes small efforts to finish integration on customer projects.

The company adds that by taking advantage of being pre-integrated on mainstream DTV SoC platforms, it will ease the time-to-deploy pressure for operator services and shorten time-to-market for smart TV and STB CPEs which are based on OpApp specification.

The products powered by the Sraf OpApp solution will go to the market in Q4 of this year.
