Foxtel is bringing to Australia the official TV channels from English Premier League football clubs Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United from 1 July.

foxtel logoIt will be the first time the 24/7 channels are broadcast in Australia, and will be joined on the pay-TV platform by dedicated programming blocks from other Premier League clubs Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea TV, LFCTV and MUTV are an addition to the Foxtel Sports pack, adding to the existing 12 sports channels at no extra cost.

The channels will air all six teams’ home and away Premier League matches on delay, with those that kick off at 3pm GMT on Saturdays available to Foxtel viewers from 1pm AEST on Sundays.

There will also be exclusive coverage of pre-season games, interviews with players and coaching staff, press conferences, pre-match build up and post-match analysis.

“The addition of these dedicated new sports channels is a huge win for English football fans who subscribe to Foxtel. These channels, along with the recently announced beIN Sports channels, will be compulsory viewing for all fans of international football and will also complement the Fox Sports coverage of the local A-League competition,” said Peter Tonagh, chief executive, Foxtel.

“Our new EPL Club partners are global brands in their own right and have large groups of dedicated supporters in Australia making up more than 75% of the English football fan base here. Our customers will now have access to commentary, analysis, insight and behind the scenes action they’ve never seen before.

“We know how much Australians love sport and these new channels, all available in HD, will make Foxtel an even more compelling proposition and cementing us as the new home of European football.”

From 14 May, Foxtel will show three beIN Sports channels, which will be home to all 51 games live from the UEFA EURO 2016 international football tournament in France during June and July.

Foxtel has been bolstering its football offer after losing the rights to broadcast live Premier League football to rival pay-TV provider Optus, who will show the next three seasons of the popular English competition, starting August 2016.
